CopenHill Urban Mountain: Vindmøllevej 6, 2300 København, Denmark
Close to me there’s an old power station that they’re going to demolish, and I said what a waste! They should transform it into something like a fairground… like the one I found in Germany with a Drive-in Christmas Market here. People laughed in me face at the suggestion. Well, well, well, just look at this waste-to-energy power plant in Denmark that’s also a whole mountain of recreational fun! See, creative ideas happen. My kind of people!
The biggest of its kind, CopenHill is not only on a sustainable mission but has also created a place for people to enjoy. Rather than sit as an ugly eye sore of a power plant that you wouldn’t go in an inch of.
You can go skiiing on its artificial ski slope of a roof, go rock-style climbing up its sides, take a hike along its trails, or sled your way down it. If you’re an active one, you’d be spoilt for choice, cock.
Or perhaps my idea of a crackin’ day out, having a stroll to the top, then sucking up its views whilst sinking a drink in its roof top restaurant. Just look at those beltin’ platters. Gonna go out on a limb here and say it beats the greasy muck you often get up North in the UK when you ask for sharing plate. Not a piece of veg in sight, and everything slathered with condiments. Theirs has a great mix of nibbles. Can see myself now, popping the grapes and almonds as I watch skiers whizz down the sides.
