Hotel Not Hotel: Piri Reïsplein 34, 1057 KH Amsterdam, Netherlands
A hotel where a room isn’t just a room but a piece of art? Yes, please! I love creative design and Amsterdam’s Hotel Not Hotel is one for me bucketlist.
The entire hotel is one big living room, with cosy seating areas between the cottages, and it feels like your sitting in some kind of exhibition space and not just another boring hotel lobby.

Most rooms were designed by Collaboration-O, a group of young designers that originated from the Eindhoven Design Academy. One of my faves is this campervan complete with pole if you’re entertaining! The van looks over their Kevin Bacon Bar which is open for hotel guests and locals, and serves up Thai food plus an array of beltin’ cocktails.

Another cool design that’s caught my eye is the secret hotel room inside a book case. When the door closes people outside won’t even know you’re there. I’d hope they’re soundproof to drown out chatty Kathys supping and mingling outside my door. Showing my age there.

Best seat in the house? One right at the top of a ladder of course. Take a book and a brew and have a nosey at everybody down below. It appears that you’re sat above somebody’s hotel room and I wonder if you can hear their convos? I also wonder if they’ve had any pissed up fallers yet?
For the best room rates, my tip is to book directly with the hostels and hotels if you can. So, head over to book on Hotel Not Hotel’s website here.

Share your fave creative hostels + hotels in the comments with me, love, and I’ll go have a nosey.
