It’s only Feb and I’m already fancying a beach day. So, this is one for the, if I ever get to go on holiday again bucketlist! Rummu is an abandoned Soviet prison in Estonia. (I know, but stick with me on this one). The quarry got flooded by underground water and boom, these days it’s a beach. I love quirky things, so this could quite possibly be the best beach I’ve ever chuffin’ seen!
There’s quite a few vlogs knocking about on YouTube, and I’ve pulled through one below to give you a better idea of how cool it looks. It seems to get packed with beach goers too.
It’s also become a firm fave with divers with schools such as Barrakuuda offering diving tours around it. If you ever go there for a bit of an underwater diving sesh, I’d suggest booking a class because it’s an old prison after all. Nobody wants to get spiked in the eye or lose a leg to rust poisoning. The schools should know the best and safest spots to explore.
As I mention all of the time, Estonia is on my bucketlist and I’d love to check out this beach. Even if just for a pile of quirky photos and a sit on the sand. Apparently, snorkelling views above the underwater buildings are cool to see too, and most likely a better option for somebody like me who isn’t a deep sea diver.

Got a creative Euro spot I should check out? Tell me in the comments, love. I might even be a doll, and feature it in a post.
