Jumbo Stay: Jumbovägen 4, 190 47 Stockholm-Arlanda, Sweden
Fancy a night in a cockpit? Don’t we all at the minute! Rona has turned me into a wholesome nun. I do love a concept and that extends to creative experiences in hostels or hotels, so Jumbo Stay is now firmly on my bucketlist!
Based at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, Jumbo Stay is a jumbo jet that’s been transformed into a hostel and much more, to be honest! Treat yourself fancy and spend a night in the cockpit (pic above), or choose from one of its many other bedrooms if smaller portal windows are more up your street.
The plane also has a conference room section, so no excuses for sacking off work if you’re in Stockholm on business. You can also hire just the room for a business conference. I would totally do it. It’d liven up any of those boring meetings and training days that we all have to endure at some point.
There’s also a cafe onboard, and you don’t even have to be sleeping over at the hostel in order to swing by for a brew. If I ever find myself with time to kill waiting in Arlanda Airport, I’ll be popping across for a cuppa here. Beats a trash-bag Starbucks any day. Am all for an experience.
Take your brew one step further and neck it from the comfort of the plane’s wing! When I fly and end up sitting by a wing window, I always imagine going for a walk on it, so now here’s my chance… in a way! Bet it’s nice to sit there and watch other planes take off too.
Jumbo Stay is currently operating like any other hotel and cafe and following the most recent Rona rules, so if I’ve whet your appetite for a visit, off you can pop!
